The Meaning of Life

I think of You

When the sun is bright

The sky is blue and

The breeze is warm

And I love You

As I love the gentle flowers

In the springtime.

Once I held You and

I will hold you again

But now You are as far away

As the stars on a summer night

Or the milkweed clouds

Drifting idly across the summer sky.

I don't believe

That the world is as evil

As so many say.

God sculpted the Earth

Within his own hands

But there is no faith.

Some people are like ice.

If one would only think

Of the trees and the stars

And the love from His heart

All the questions of existence

Would fall into place

We all ask of ourselves:

What is the meaning of life?

If one would only stop and look

In a wooded grove in June,

Listen to the soft sounds

Of the purest sanctity of all,

One would know.

The answer is very simple-

Pick a flower and excel.

The love I feel for you

Isn't because of you

For you are the wind

And the sun and the sky

You are the Earth

In it's utmost tranquility

On an evening like this.
