Heaven is of little worth
When I look upon the earth
The meadows and the green pine trees
The fish that jump in the shining seas
The birds that fly so near each star
Heaven seems away so far.
Heaven's blue above the mountains
Above the trees and crystal fountains.
How far above is the sky?
How far away are the birds that fly?
How far apart is life from death?
How far apart each living breath?
Who can tell tomorrow from today
Does anyone know, can anyone say?
Is life so long then does it end?
Is heaven there for hearts to mend? Is vast heaven really there
Up in the sky so blue?
Is our promised garden really there
Can we feel it's true? The answer comes when we die
And becomes like the clouds
Just a piece of the sky. Rainbowturtle
